The Countryside Alliance Foundation

Delivered via The Countryside Alliance Foundation, Fishing for Schools is a programme for young people aged 10-16 years we supported that aims to provide opportunities for disadvantaged children and young people with complex behavioural, social and emotional difficulties. The charity use the countryside as a platform to inspire an enjoyment of learning and nature and to engage young people in key school subjects. This encourages an enjoyment of learning that builds confidence and a sense of achievement through fishing and the natural world. To date, more than 3400 students from 120 schools have taken part in the courses they offer which, as well as assisting the young people to learn useful skills, helps them gain recognised qualifications such as the ‘Certificate of Personal Effectiveness’ which is a GCSE alternative for many of the children they help.
