The Muscular Dystrophy Support Centre sent us this great picture of some of their Physiotherapists trying out a spot of Pilates at the charity’s new HQ in Coventry. The grant we awarded MDSC was to help fund specialist equipment for their new ‘satellite’ clinic in Tipton which will enable people in the surrounding areas such as Wolverhampton to have local access to therapies where there has, to date, been none. The charity does a great job supporting people to live well with muscular dystrophy and similar conditions using hydrotherapy, osteopathy and other complementary therapies, as well as offering various exercise classes. With their help, people are retaining independence and have an improved quality of life. MDSC are one of just two organisations nationwide that provide physiotherapy on a long-term basis for people with muscular dystrophy. They expect to see their service user numbers rise over the next year and the new clinic in Tipton will play a big part in helping many of those people.
