We have been supporting Surrey Blues Football Club for several years now and were pleased to receive an update and photos of some of the young people modelling the team’s new kit. Players are mostly from Surrey and the surrounding areas and they enjoy an educational and social programme of coaching and footballing activities specific to young adults with learning disabilities. The programme is delivered in a safe, caring environment and with the aim to maximise ability and promote confidence and independence. Players have an opportunity to compete against other local teams in friendly matches and take part in tournaments. It was great to hear that a couple of longstanding players are now actually moving to coaching roles having qualified with the support of the team’s coaches. Well done to them!
